When I confederate, the generals don#t show up in the faction screen

I recently started as the Suebi, and I confederated some minor faction into mine (We had a good relationship and I would have felt bad attacking them).

I got their generals under my control, but for some reason they don't show up under the faction screen. Is this on purpose or a bug?
Will those generals increase my influence when I conquer with them?

same here, although when i got a faction to join my confedaration i ended up disbanding one of the new armies that i had.

the next turn i got a message telling me that the guy had returned to a statesman and was awaiting his next command.

bought up the family panel and voila, there he was in my family

Thanks, disbanding the generals and assigning them as general again works indeed.
