    Default Now accepting beta testers

    Hello all,

Ladies and Gents, we are looking for a few good folks to join the Lordz beta team.

This is a very, very important time for the beta team. The next beta will be Waterloo, and at that time we hope to have analyzed the trends, tendencies, strengths and weaknesses of what we've done with the Rome engine. This will be our last Total War release for the near future, or at least until it seems that Medieval Total War 2 is modable, and we want to make sure that we have made it as fine as it can be.

As such, this is a final time to analyze the current build (2.2) and see where changes could be used.

I would like to put this offer out for people to join the current Lordz beta team.

A warning; I am not really looking for Napoleonic experts; we have many of those. In fact, some of the times, I will not even necessarily be asking for true opinion (this is what we call the HARD SELL  ) However, if you are a SMART (this is key!) sensible, logically minded individual with a keen eye for detail and willing to do some work, we could REALLY use you.

There are a number of tests that will be extensively planned and executed on our test maps (thanks to LFB for that!) to see how the game is currently balanced and how the various parts interact. We want to make sure these parts, be they French Old Guard or British Rifles or English Rockets, interact in a most historical manner while being the most fun possible.

Beta testers will, of course, recieve and be able to play the Waterloo expansion (god wait till you see Hougoumont!) well before the general release, and if you prove yourself to be thoughtful, insightful, AND willing to have British and French infantry just standing, blasting at each other for a while while you watch and take a few notes, your ideas will ALWAYS be welcome... there are a lot of good NTW minds out there, and we would love to have their insights in this very important, and very high profile, release!

So, if this sounds like something you would like to take up and you think you could spare some time, please drop me a PM at forum.thelordz.co.uk or an email (grenadierguardscampaigns@yahoo.com)

Thanks, and I hope to see a few of the reliable folks I know taking this up.

    [GG] Lord Ashram

I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.

Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'

I would sign up but I'll probably get removed after I've served my purpose again, without even a thank you note or anything like that.

I think I posted that note in the Briefing Room at the Lordz forum and all testers are mentioned in the credit.txt in the game. We are rebuilding and re-evaluating our test program at the moment.

    LZoF

P.S. Here is the text again in case you missed it.

Well now that the main release is done, we finally notice that two years of blood, sweat & tears is paying off. NTW2 was recieved well at first sight.

At the moment we are totally redoing the unit stats and costs, and making sure the British, just as the Russians and French have its own character.

We are not done improving yet.

We thank all testers for their hard work and feedback the last couple of months.

From now on the main testing will be done by the Lordz themselves again, having such a large test group was needed to make sure the first release went smooth, but has surpassed its purpose. We are going to invite some of you to keep participating in our testing program however, but it will be a much smaller group. The lucky ones will be notified by PM the coming days.

But all in all chaps thank you for your time and devotion, we couldn`t have pulled it off without your participation.

And expect some surprises and nice releases in the future, we are not done yet with the NTW2 project.

    Cheers,

    LZoF

We are looking for people who still would find it an honour and a special job, testing with us and for us. We do look for clean analytical minds, with no preference to any faction or nation or unit. We do not seek people who give us their view on how the stat and costs should be all the time or how a unit should be represented in your opinion. Just play, test and analyse dry and clean. Be willing to do boring and repetitive tests sometimes and just make a clean and calm report afterwards. We will screen your testing performance and way of presenting data to us, so we know if you are the tester we are looking for. No moaning and whining we have Lord Ashram already on that department. :tooth: Do not hesitate if you feel you are up for a serious job and improve NTW2 even more and give us a real hand. We made this in our spare time for free for you all to have fun with, now you can give us some feedback and help us.

Contact Lord Ashram if you are interested.

And LZoF, you might consider it whining, but I'm almost always right

    Hey,
thanks foe the note, just for the record I was removed before I got a chance to see it.

As far as testing. I did that from the very start, ask Adherbal. I like all factions as I have played with all of them repeatedly and never said stuff like "Polish Lancers should own heavy cav" (you probably know who I'm quotiing ). Plus I've been in the beta for a long time and did all the testing that was needed, but alas, seems that my input was not good enough.

I can help you test the game if you want my help again. Just to make sure that we don't get things like missle 14 guards who cost 850 vs missle 11 guards who cost 1000

I play NTW2 often enough, and theres little more satisfying then watching two units shoot it out over a plain, so the boredom is not a problem, I have no preference personaly over the factions, I jsut play with one more often then the others due to effectivness, nothing else. I have a relativly clean mind but have little experience of modding so other then looking and noting I have little idea of what is humanly possible

Might be Friday before the new folks are named.

Just so you all know; I expect at least a test or two every week, no exceptions. If you don't post, you are gone. No new stuff will be coming to you for a while, just testing current gen NTW2, so the first three or four weeks is the time to prove your place. If you last that long, then you might get the fun of getting your hands on the full Waterloo expansion, with the Prussians and Dutch Belgians and all, way early

Any last few names, get them in now.
