I just cant do anything!
Any tips and tricks? The start is soooo difficult.
And do you guys get Libyan infantry or the Carthagian hoplites? Libyan have better states though.

When playing with Barcid, the only way I can succeed if I rush the first Barb you are at war with. You must trade with Libya, and max out econ as possible, while maintaining an army of cheap units.
Remember with these enemies, missile troops are very effective.
It's never a sure deal, a bit of luck, since diplomacy with italians will inevitably degrade to the point of war. If you can trade with Eutrascans, do it. But it's rare for them to accept unless you are at war with Rome, as it is almost impossible to have extra cash for diplomacy when maintaining two stacks.
Missile troops or utilize your Elephant generals for routing enemy armies.
I am pro. Dont let your clients join your wars, let them fight on one front. Get lots of trade agreements. Concentrate on Afrika first. Hold Qath Hadash with a decent stack. Win more battles.
Its difficult to handle the barbarians in Spain
Suchunits at the moment lol
you dont have to handle them bro. stabilise Afrika and hold Qarth with some Libyan Spearmen. build money. get those Iberians later.
I abandoned everything except Carthago, dissolved the client state with Libya and blitzed them to secure Africa province. By the everybody and their mothers were at war with me. Then I concentrated on Garamantia and took that province. By then I had lost Karth Hadast to the barbs in Spain and Sicily and Sardina to the Romans. Then I concentrated my efforts on the western part of north africa, Nova Carthago had lost all their holdings except one region so I "absorbed" them
By then I had 3 provinces and things were getting easier. I used both the hoplite and infantry, hoplites in the center and infantry as flankers. This was on VH difficulty and no I dont reload if things go sour, that would remove all fun from the game
No battleplan ever survives contact with the enemy
