    Icon14 Hidden "gems"

While looking trough the variantmeshdefinition folders i found an intersting armor, a selucid elite linothorax. (i forgot to take a picture)
I have also seen several others who have found armors or helmets thats not used in the game.
So the idea of this thread is that if you find something that looks really nice and isent used in the game you post it here. preferably with a picture

I dunno about items inside vmd files that aren't used, but I've certainly stumbled across a few vmd files themselves that aren't used by any units in game. I've already used one of them as a template for one of my new units.

Yep, there is also a persian hoplite linothorax there, but I tried them and have some weird clipping issues, so they're not 100% ready.

The existance of the seleucid armor is a prime example though, how features (in this case the seleucids) were cut out of the game before launch to be made a dlc later. :sigh:

Dude, you just gave me the best helmet idea ever

P.S. That helmet is not in the game, but I can make a similar one to it, I'll see if my idea can be done.

There are some issues with the seleucid armor, some of the models have a black dot on the front. so i dont think that one is 100% finished either.
It is always really nice though when you can customize your units with armors thats not in the game or rarely seen in the game.

heheheh, I know it isn't there, but while I was loking for it I found another thracian variant helmet (hellenic_thracian_4) that's not used in the game!! Howerever, as most of this material, it clips with the head models like hell .

To make the helmet you're talking it is quite impossible right now, since the tools to export models back to the rigidmodev2 format haven't been released yet. Nevertheless there's a little workaround meanwhile. You can modify the texture of the bearded phrygian helmet to make the cheekguards look like those in your avatar...still it's not the same helmet but it is a patch

First I want to try out how it looks, if I combined different greek helmets with the cheekplate (can't beleive I didn't thought of this before), and if it looks bad, I'll try and make the cheekplate's texture transparent in the area where I don't need it and see if that works.
