    Default Are mods working with patch 4?

    Without knowing the new patch could endanger my mods, I updated the game. I thought to play but before I started I saw that the mods may not work.
    Is that the same thing Lusted told us about, with the priority being different or something?
    Do mods work?
    alhoon is not a member of the infamous Hoons: a (fictional) nazi-sympathizer KKK clan. Of course, no Hoon would openly admit affiliation to the uninitiated.

    Generally they won't work with a new patch and the mods need updating. And easy way out is make a copy of the game in another folder and run the game from there. With a different address it won't get new patched. It still will access the same save games in your appdata.

    Do mods work?
    1) go to the mod forums on TWC
    2) check the 'list of mods that work with patch 4' thread
    3) check title or first post of mods you want to see if they indicate if they work with patch 4


    All big/active mods work fine with patch 4

    Patch 4 made changes to the structure of some tables (shields gained an extra attribute in preparation for patch 5 for example), so any mod that made changes to affected tables would definitely cause issues if you didn't update them.

    Do mods work?
    Always REMOVE Mods before allowing updating. There are so many patches that Mods are barely keeping up and the patches are making some serious changes. If you don`t remove the Mods first, then chances are you`ll have a broken RTW2 that`ll need revirifying\re-installing. If you`re lucky, tiny mods may still work, but the real change Mods won`t- and why take the risk?


    I still find it hard to believe that so many people can`t figure this out.

    If they're mod foldered they don't have to be removed. They only need to be deactivated.

    I use a mod I made myself, fixing everything I had an issue with to the way I wanted it. But it would take hours to make the changes from the beginning again.

    I guess I'll have to see which parts work and which don't and update accordingly.

    Question: Why on earth should I deactivate mods before updating? They are in different packs.

    If you mean steam patch updates, yes they are different packs. You might only need deactivate the mod to play the game with the new patch, that's all.
