Change back to original music

Love the mod but also really love the music of the original Rome TW - I tried copying the descr_sounds_music.txt file from the original R:TW data folder to the RS2 data folder but I've still got the RS2 music. I've searched the forums but what I come up with is switching the above file, which I've already done and didn't work. Anyone got any advice/ideas how to revert back to the original R:TW music?

Go into the 'your_RTW_folder\data\sounds' folder. In there you will see a file called 'events.dat' that has a size of '0'. Two files below it, you will see the original 'events_backup.dat'. Delete the one with size '0', and rename the original 'events.dat'. The game will start using its original music at that point, without changing anything else.

If you do NOT have an 'events_backup.dat', copy the original one from another install of RTW into that folder.

dvk, thanks for the quick response. However, in my vanilla RTW\data\sounds folder, I have an events.dat file that is 6810kb, but not one that is 0. I also don't see any file called "events_backup.dat"

Looking in my RSII\data\sounds folder, I have a sub-folder called "events_dat_backup", which has an events.dat file that is 6810kb. I actually don't see any "events.dat" files in the main RSII\data\sounds folder. I have an "events.idx", and then all the voice and music files, but no "events.dat"

Any thoughts on what I could do here, or did I hose something up?

All you need to do is find 'a' (any) events.dat file that was with the original game and copy it into the sounds folder. The one in 'events_dat_backup' was put there for this reason. Just copy it.

I copied and pasted the "events.dat" file from the vanilla RTW\data\sounds folder into the RSII\data\sounds folder, but the music is still the RSII music - what am I doing wrong?

delete all map.rwm files in base and imperial campaign ....everyone of them
