Halp! Can't change EDU.

I'm making my first foray into messing about with the EDU. Just as an experiment I changed the upkeep cost of drapanai from 218 to 200. Then when I tried to save I got a 'access denied' message. Where am I going wrong?

I have no real clue as to what I am doing, as I would describe myself as only semi-computer literate. A few things to note that may have an affect; I am playing through Alexander with Jirisys' Europa Barbarorum Mega Mod Pack.

I'm sure this question--or things similar-- have been asked many times before, so I do apologize. Any assistance will have me hammering your rep button like a mad man.

I think I might have caused a bug. In my latest game playing Getai reinforcements are always delayed.

Maybe the file are "Read Only", or you need to access as Administrator. I can't recall a similar problem. The files are normally editable.

I'm accessing as administrator, but I was unfamiliar with 'read only'. I found it in properties. The EDU file itself doesn't have 'read only' on but my Rome-Total War and data folders do, will this make a difference?

No, I don't think that's the problem.
Event though I'm not familiar with the Jirisys MM Pack (I'm still struggling with the "normal" EB ), I think the matter deal with the system more than the game...

try this...
copy the EDU somewhere else (and make a backup), then try to edit the copied file. If it let save the changes, try copying the edited file in the EB folder (on the appropriate subfolder, obviously)

I'll give that a go. I'm doing a fresh install as well, see if that helps.
