Copy and Paste data in ESF
I had been using ESF 1.0.7. til yesterday when I downloaded the 1.1.0 version. They both work like a charm and the edited file does not seem to cause any problem even on the long run, say 20 turn in the game or something.
Now that said, here is my problem: I would like to copy/paste files or folders but I cant figure this one out. I searched the threads and AFAIAA it can be done but I dont know how. Right clicking gives me no such function, no method seems to help.
I would like to copy and paste new armies from a save_game file to a startpos or another save_game file. I do now want to do editing manually, rather generate the new armies ingame save the game and copy/paste the new armies into the startpos or a previous save_game file.
I found a thread and the this is all the info I found but that does not help me much, and I quote "you can open two files in ESF and copy" <<< ??????
Can it indeed be done and if so could you enlighten me how pls.
Thanx.

Re: Copy and Paste data in ESF
No, EditSF has no copy/paste.
The thread you found might be about the older EsfEdit which supported files only up to NTW.
If you do need to copy/paste, you can try taw's esf<->xml codec.

Interesting stuff - I will give it a try. Thank you for your prompt response. And for the tools you so generously provide us with.
