Default my Egypt campaign is messed up

everything was fine until I decided to start a war with the seleucids I had no problem defeating them and their allies but since then everyone started to declare wars on me without any proper reason even barbarian tribes from gaul
and now I have this ing civil war 9 full stacks and 6 fleet stacks and they just take my undefended cities one by another sine all of my stacks are busy fighting almost every single faction I have encountered so far
this makes no sense at all the game should be hard sometimes but not in a way it dosent make sense the gallic factions have no reason to attack me this is still not the crusaders era...

I had the same problem concering the random war declerations as Egypt once I started fighting the Seleucids (they declared war on me in my game).
Even worse was that most of these factions would never accept peace simply because them declaring war on me dropped our diplomstic relationship by around 80 points causing them to hate me.

They declare war on me for no reason, they start to hate me because we are at war then refuse peace regardless of how much I offer because they hate me. Seems like a great system.

This happens not just for Egypt, repeat experience with Rome on Legendary - suddenly every man and his dog (literally) wants a piece of you.

This must be coded, when you get to a certain strength or weakness level, everyone jumps on to the "attack Human Player" bandwagon.

Another great piece of RTW 2 coding.

I've always noticed that it happens if you appear weak (as in your military/empire-size ratio is too low). When you war with a nation that's stronger than you or on par with you, its likely that you'll get other nations trying to exploit you.

I've seen other factions declare war on a faction whose armies I've wiped out (but have yet to take lots of their land) - EX: As Macedon I defeated a giant number of invading Seleucid armies. This obviously left their lands very vulnerable and Egypt, Pontus, and Parthia declared war on them shortly after.

My Macedonian campaign started out well. Conquered Greece (except for Athens and Sparta), took Italy and parts of the balkans. Took thracia and most of turkey stretching to Armenia. But then randomly a civil war begins and I lose my capital. So I send an army from Nikomedia. They are wiped out and I lose most of my empire around Pella in Greece and Thrace. Then the rebels land forces in Italy, I defeat a few and take the war back to the Epirius.... tough ing war. I lost so many armies in this civil war.

Same thing happened in my Egupt campaign (no civil war yet though), so I stopped... exploring to avoid meeting new factions who I assume will declare on me shortyl after.

My only break was Rome, who seems occupied on other fronts, so we are at peace. They will not accept a non aggression pact or trade agreement though.

What was interesting is that Syracuse eventually came to be at war with most of the known world, as well, including me. However, due to our swarm of common enemies, their attitude became friendly towards me. After repeated tries I managed to sign a preace treaty and a trade agreement with them with a gift of one turn's income (which is not really much anyway, about 4,000 gold). My success rate when I proposed was "moderate" but they accepted. Perhaps if I could throw enough money to Rome, they might accept as well, but my Ptolemaic Empire is rather poor.

I believe that once you get too many wars, which will happen if you are at war with Seleucids, other neutral factions want a piece of your pie and declare soon after. Perhaps, if you can build an alliance of your own before such a war, things will be different with the other neutral factions.

That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ
