Cursus Honorum system is ourstanding guys. excellent Senate dynamic
Outstanding. Simply outstanding. Finaly got 2.6 to work as i had taken a break from 2.5. You guys make the game for lovers of historical and political emersion and not just the casual crowd.
The Senate elections and promotions IMO is perfected and i am totaly into my leaders progression. Extremely emersive. Also the imperium is well done and more clear now as are all the senate politics. Rome 2 is such a bare bones design disaster but i am elated i have a game like this that startrs with the second punic war. Every authentic Roman leader is deployed from the period of the starting date and deployed where the should be. Only small side request would be to have the Elder Scipio accompanied by his brother in Spain. One to Govern the starting town in Spain the other to campaign. But thats greedy on my part im not even coming close to complaining. This is the depth that i dreamed about and if it had some of the very few improvements Rome2 had to offer (combined naval invasions/Naval battles, Province system) It would be Perfection. It is very close to that as it is.
I do get some random pre battle crashes but it reloads so fast that it's not much of an issue and it doesn't crash the second time once i load the saved game. So no complaint realy. Giving a choice with the Garrison script is something to thank you guys for as well. Couldn't stand every tiny town having complete stacks in them. Capitols mandatory but now some towns have more modest garrisons.
Do i reinforce Scipio in spain early to get a jump on Carthage in that theater? Do i reinforce Flaccus in Greece so i dont lose my foothold to the Macedonian expansionist? Or do i leave them to their own devices while Flamminius Varo and Mettellus Drive off Hannibal and quash the Soci rebellion? Such options are not available in other total war games as they are not historicly specific and focused as they should be on the starting era at least. This is like picking up my copy of Livys account of the second punic war but options open to how it turns out this time.
Outstanding thanks again. Im restarting a campaign as Scipion Africanus and his entire legion were wiped out by a natural dissaster. Thats what i get for being in a fault ridden area with a volcano. Anybody else i would love the random dissater but not my beloved Scipio. Im going to start from scratch as i love the begining anyhow.
Now if we could only get you to make an identical version of this for Rome 2....

It could be, or also it could be video card overheating.

pull your things out of emporiae and dyrrhchium, lose them early so you don't face so many enemies, pull everything back to italy, hannibal is ez mode, just kill him at turn 0-1 with your starting italian armies.
deal with the rebels, then camp near full stack in each of your two upper italian border cities so that those enemies there wont attack you.
now take remaining army , partially to caralis to deal with incoming carthage invasions
split the rest + reinforce with more trained armies to sicily and take syrcuse
congratulations you have won the roman campaign, the rest is cake walk as long as you plan your borders properly when you conquer.

Cake walk? The war in spain is no cake walk but your plan is similar to mine. However on principal i defend my holdings in Spain and Greece. As far as Syracuse goes as long as Heiro is alive and they are friendly i prefer to not attack them.
