Have you all seen it? They don't have it at local video stores, so I would have to purchase it at Best Buy. What did you all think? Was it worth the praise it got at the Emmy's? I love Jeremy Irons and I have yet to see Helen Mirren's performance in a film, though I hear she's spectacular.

Yeah I seen it. I also seen the one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0127536/ With Cate Blanchet as Elizibeth. I liked em both.

I like any movie having to do with old timey britain. Madness of King George was good too.

I saw the Cate Blanchett version as well. I really liked the film, but there was a lot of liberty in the aspect of historical accuracy. Did you find it better than this film? Basically all I'm asking is if it's worth $20 and a little explanation why.

Mmm...well, I cant speak much about the historical accuracy, but I think both movies are worth owning because they are noticably different from one another. In one movie, certain characters are not as interesting and fleshed out as in the other. For instance, in Elizabeth (cate blanchet version), Walsingham is much more fleshed out and interesting. In the Helen Mirren version, Lord Burghley is a more prominent character. So they are different enough movies to both be watchable.

As to wether or not its worth it to spend $20...well, if you dont have Comcast digital cable I say yes. If you do, I say just set yourself an alarm for the film and itll alert you the next time itll come on. They were showing both versions a lot pretty recently actually...
