Icon1 Is It Possible To Change Color Scheme Of A Shield Without Adding Textures?

In variantmeshdefinitions, I've tried "mask1=0" system but it doesn't work for me or I did something wrong. In fact I didn't understand how this masking thing works in variantmeshdefinion files. Can someone explain me how to to this properly? Thanks in advance.

Some shields may have a mask built into the model itself, depending on what shield it is, roman shields color can be changed using mask0="1" etc I'm not sure if ALL shields can also have thier colour changed in this way though.
