I dont get it. Is it so difficult to put at last the option to diplomacy, where you can type amount of money as you like? If I want to give a gift, I want just type the amount as I like and not the horrible high amount computer sets automatically. It was always like that in every TW game diplomacy. Now what CA says? They say: Its not a bug, its a feature??? I just dont get it. Is it so difficult to put it there, or am I so silly to ask for it?

Probably meant so that players wouldn't abuse the AI. Anything up to this one you would be there checking if you could spend less 100 for the treaty. On Rome 1 or Medieval 2 you can make everyone friendly by giving 100 gold every 2-5 turns, it's a huge exploit in my opinion, no way that small ammount of gold is going to make everyone so happy

On subject of balancing this out, I would prefer there was a minimum ammount set from the current money you have, and then you could scale up as required. That way, you can't exploit the AI too much.

Too idle? Only because they created something stupid (I am not giving so huge amount of money to anyone and I am not going to make trained clown with switching offer/demand option because someone didnt get his job done) I am not going to play under their silly rules. What is so complicated on typing down an amount? How difficult that can be? I would say its only because they want it "console friendly". But what saddens me much is how easy people get use to anything pointless, only because someone told them to do so. That remainds me this old saying: People learn to love their chains.

I'm currently not even bothering with diplomacy in my rome campaign. I control basically the western roman empire and I have 500k money to spend. But now I get harassed by some one province factions who want non-agression pacts for 50k. Somehow I feel that the amount of money they demand should be based on their income instead of mine. That way the AI would still get a relatively large amount of money and it also reflects the importance of the treaty for both factions. I would be willing to pay 1000 gold for a non-agression pact, just to reduce a potential annoyance. Paying 50k however is far to much. It would be cheaper to just destroy them in case they declare war.

Don’t even bother to agree on those, even if you set the price you like (can be done, if you counter offer by using demand option to set lower price, then switch demand to offer). Because these small provinces like to cancel those NA in few next turns and after few more they ask for money again. Like they were pets we have to feed.

Why? It's a TW game. It's only been out 5 weeks. I'm told they have form for this sort of thing. "Mate".

With any luck the next patch will enable wishful thinking and telekinesis, save us having to do anything for ourselves at all but still be perfectly happy.

God knows there are a lot of major problems with this game. Most of them currently insurmountable. This one is very minor and "work-roundable".

Another feature, this game is full of features,if you want a feature come and play Rome. Its a game with feature but no future.

it isn't a feature, it is something that has always been there as far as I can remember they just decided to take it out of rome 2. rome 2 designers did this with alot of the small things. which adds up to a mountain load. so yea.....

The A.I is taxed enough as it is, as mentioned there is a workaround and works quite well, i have never overpaid in patch 4 beta

IMO The reason why its not just "type in any number", is because the range of possibilities are too high. Making the range, as quantifiable steps make it easier to calculate whether A.I should agree or counter-offer, remember it has to make these decisions with itself as well as the player, for instance in previous TW you could specify the exact value but the A.I always though would work in percentages, nice whole numbers, this system make the player do the same

I like this approach: dumbing the player down to the level of the AI. Hell of an idea. Now apply this to the BAI, too. All of a sudden, battles will be highly challenging.
