Horse archers fire much more rapidly than foot archers?

Hello! I just observed that my horse archers (eldar cavalry modded) run out of arrows much earlier than foot archers (eldar archers), despite having double ammounts of ammo. It's like 4 or 5 times faster. Also in previous battles that horse archers typically gain more than double kills than foot archers (per-unit), even though their arrows are less accurate and of lesser penetration power.

They seem to fire individually rather than in volly. Perhaps that's why they fire more rapidly? Infantry does take much more time to aim and seem to fire at exactly the same time.


Can anyone else confirm this? Is there any way to change it?

Horse archers have the ability to move and shoot at the same time. They're almost always shooting arrows, plus there's more foot archers in a unit and not all of them fire at once. With horse archers, practically every unit is shooting. In accordance with the higher kill rate, think about how you use horse archers in comparison to foot archers, everyone's playstyle is different, but usually people use horse archers as the more flexible unit to go around the battlefield harassing the enemy. The biggest plus to horse archers is the mobility, so they can get behind enemy units and shoot them in the backs

No. I just put them there, no movement for both of foot archers and horse archers.




I put stat_fire_delay with negative value and run the test again - foot archers managed to achieve the same kill count as horse archers per unit, but still only 50% per soldier.

They do shoot faster. Not as much of a delay in their animations.

Well thats something correct, horse archers are usually prefers quick, half drawn shoots while foot archers usually prefers more concentrated fully drawn shoots.

It is also why foot Archers in real life were deadly against horse archers.
