Default I just had the BUGGIEST siege battle of all times :P

I wish I had fraps on for this one, it was hillarious and sad at the same time

    Pictures speak for themselves!

    http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7...7/screenshots/

    You can see:

    1.towers labeled as gates
    2.gates labeled as towers
3.missing labels placed on random spots on the map, the most funny is the one on the corner of the map outside of the city
4.a boat was dancing inland left and right for the whole duration of the battle capturing the flag and losing it as it was passing by like a crab
5.the usual bug when you manage to shatter the 2-3 units the AI sends to burn your gates down, the rest of the army goes in a corner and moshpits there, gate was up to 98% but that's ok let's just dance in the corner
6.the battle advicor was going crazy that I was capturing towers and gates when I didn't move my soldiers for the entire duration of the battle and I didn't lose a single tower, as if the city wasn't mine when the battle begun

    ah...... yea....
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

Sigh... I feel the pain, man. Quite frankly if they actually sat down and worked out the siege problems, the game would be far more tolerable. TBH, the sieges are the biggest issue in the game, the rest I either like or can tolerate.

Was this on patch 3 or beta 4? If it's beta, then your not the only person having trouble with buggy sieges.

It's a shame siege battles are so awful because 99% of the game is siege battles.

Though I have noticed the AI sallies forth far more often. I've actually played a good 60 or so turns as Macedon, haven't fought a walled city battle yet.

Are you playing with patch 4? I just "upgraded" considering all the mods are switching over and it's unplayable for me. Pikemen won't advance for some reason when you order them to attack and units getting bunched up into little balls while they walk. I know, I know, it's beta but damn feels like we're going 2 steps back and for every step forward.

Next release Medieval III? no sieges because they are so bad? LAUGHING OUT LOUD. I guess next game will be Empire or Victoria, , there is not such need of sieges and I guess they will not, again, have enough time to develop a proper siege, even more if they go with another engine. And I think the reason behind this lack of design is due to people complaining about having too much sieges battles, so the removed it from most of the cities and abandoned any commited line of design," as they are not so important now who cares to develop them? and look people agrees in the previews so this cannot be a wrong decision"

In M2TW/RTW I never had problems with "too many sieges". More often than not, besieging a city would draw nearby armies into a decisive field battle.

9 posts in and no CA zealot to be seen deriding the thread? I'm surprised
