hi all . sorry for my english



this is my macedon campaign. we are in 209 bc. I AM the major power on the west mediterranean after 10 years of war with carthage. now carthage is my satrapy.


all allong my border there is safety; carthage rules spain, mauretania are owned by my masamones allies and thracia belongs to my friend the king of odrysia.

ok now the major problem for the king of macedon (perseus) is that the seleucids controls all asia, middle east and egypt. the royal spy told to the king that there is rumour that the seleukid king is obsessed by recreate alexander empire and that means to seize makedonia! the king asked to the chief of staff of the kingdom, General anaximander if makedonia is ready to attack seleucia before they strike. anaximander told him yes we are ready. so the king ordered to anaximander to assemble a powerful army and to crush seleukia.

just before the war, anaximander reformed deeply the macedonian army. now the macedonian army is divided in 3 sides:
- the observation corps or if u want the frontier troops which is used to defend the frontiers
- the army corps which is like a sword u use to crush ure ennemie
- the agema wich is divided in 3 corps: the royal guard (who stay always at pella), the reserve of cavalry and elite infanterie

3 months later anaximander, chief of staff of the kingdom, assembled the ARMY OF ASIA in thrace. an army of 120000 men and 12000 horse. this army is divided in 5 corps


the 5 corps are:

AGEMA CORPS I "Gelo" commanded by anaximander
AGEMA CORPS II ( Elite Reserve of cavalry)
Ist ARMY CORPS "Gonatas"
Vth ARMY CORPS
IIIrd ARMY CORPS



the most notable corps are the AGEMA CORPS I "Gelo", AGEMA CORPS II and the Ist ARMY CORPS "Gonatas"

AGEMA CORPS I: mainly contains elite infantery. this corps is always comanded by the king or the chief of staff. this corps acte as a decisive reserve on the battlefied. the chief of staff anaximander, veteran of war with carthage, comand this elite corps


AGEMA CORPS II. its the reserve of cavalry. a very important corps. the comander could use this corps to do deep raids on ennemy territory or to reinforce army corps with cavalry. its the master of horse of the king, python, who comand this corps. he has more experience in navy but anaximander felt that is loyalty and intelligence is very good so he chosen to give him comand of this corps


Ist ARMY CORPS "Gonatas". this corps was created by antigonos gonatas. its the best of all the army corps. victories against pyrrhus, rome, arverni and carthage.


so anaximander is ready. on the eve of the invasion he took 2 other dispositions:

- first he ordered to reinforce the 6th observation corps in tingis with 3 regiments of pike phalangites. he dont trust the carthaginians.


- second he sent the VIIth army corps in lybia to prevent the seleucid to go further
