Default To Creative Assembly. (My favourite games developer).

    Hey CA,

Long time fan here, just wanted to say some things to you hopefully not to long!.

First of all good job on patch 4, it must of taken you guys a lot of time to fix that amount of issues. Good job creative assembly but the game is no where near fixed yet .

I appreciate what you are doing, a lot of developers out their would just never fix their game if they cashed in, but you are trying to make things right and that counts a whole lot.

Thank you creative assembly, thank you for supporting your fans and fixing issues we appreciate that! .

If i could make some suggestions to you if you would listen that would be great .

First of all, a list of things i think would make Total War: Rome 2 a whole lot better, would appreciate if you fine fellows at CA HQ could say if these are possible nothing worse than waiting for something that will never happen.

    1. Please could you add a Family Tree
    2. Please add more options to trade things, Capitals & Technology for instance.
    3. Please could you add cutcenes for Agents & Assassins like Shogun 2.
    4. Please could you add a feature so we can execute or set free our enemy's.
    5. Please can you tweak the music so it fits with the current environment.

Thats my top 5 things to make Total War: Rome 2 much better than shogun 2. you can do it creative assembly i know you can, you are my favourite games developer i believe in you! .

    Stay strong brothers.

Let try to help people at CA to change what has to be changed.
There are positive aspects of the game, among which, not in order of importance,

    1. improved graphics in battle and campaign map
    2. large list of traits for agents and generals
    3. great innovation in allowing joint land-naval battles.
    4. possibility of single unit's camera-view during battle
    5. nice animations for auto resolve battles on campaign map
    6. good sound effects and music
7 careful representation of different landscapes in battle

Now what they are kindly asked to change:

    1. rare chance of alliances and difficulty in commerce agreements even with much weaker factions with no commerce at all with any other faction. IA never proposes commerce agreement. Shogun 2 was much better on this regard.
    2. no use of marriage at all for any member of the faction, in contrast with the useful and well-projected marriage system in Shogun 2
    3. Lack of a family tree and, for the Roman faction, end of politics after the choice for empire. So the player has no role in the next emperor.
    4. Chase of routing units becomes necessary once more (back to pre-Napoleon). In Shogun 2 it was managed very well by the AI, with a fair calculation of enemy losses in function of the given situation in battle.
    5. In the diplomacy panel, cities on left and right border of the strategic map cannot be targeted for allies, due to the two faction's excessively large pictures, so in order to do that one must go back to normal view of the map.
    6. Speed up of battle-clock does not work as > and >> are almost exactly as normal clock.
    7. Stylish icons for units are not functional, they occupy an excessive part of the screen. As each unit card becomes compressed when their number comes near to 20, it is impossible to see on the same card the experience level of the unit. This is a backstep relatively to all games of the series. Doubts about the cerebral taste for those ancient-looking figures, but perhaps just a question of taste. Anyawy, better more squared and smaller cards for units, to free space on screen.
    8. On the screen of battle results, the unit's green bar shows a misleading information about the percentage of remaining men in each unit.
    9. In battle, too many cities have exactly the same look. Same defect as in previous games of the series.
    10. Assault biremes with auxilia cost much more the corresponding with legionaries, with only a difference in defence-strength.
    11. Elimination of that so user-friendly tool as the button of quicksave on prebattle screen: it was a great novelty of Shogun 2.
    12. Contrary to any logic (and any previous TW game), damaged fleets are repaired at sea with no need to go back to port.
    13. In battle, some men of AI reinforcements landing from ships remain stuck on the ships, so in chasing routing units you have to jump on those ships (not to wait for 20 min. or more) but this is sometimes impossible.
    14. When a general/admiral dies, the message <A noble death> appears only after the request to replace the died general/admiral has already ben satisfied. At least, reference to the identity of the dead had to be provided under the pop-up picture.
    15. On campaign map, when clicking on a settlement an annoying rectangle appears saying the name of the city and totally unuseful information about left and right mouse-clicking; this image hides the much more important data (money, culture, order). No previous game of the series had this defect.
    16. the status of ambushing armies is identifiable no longer by the army's stance on campaign map.
    17. At the beginning of any turn, if the construction report is clicked on, the list can occupy almost the whole screen, so that one cannot inspect each city or province while keeping the list of constructions just made open. Bad design of player-interface.
    18. Pirate activity of the player on naval routes unnecessarily complicated with respect to Napoleon and Shogun2 ways.
19 For the first time in TW series a city with walls (however huge they may be) can be attacked instantly by an army with no siege weapons. And of course, since there is a penalty in waiting for the attack, if the ratio is fine the player tends to prefer burning instantly the gates of the city (which are always flammable).
    20. Battle AI is defective.

Once the corrections are made, the game is wonderful and can be released, with a nice save for those who prebook a copy ... What a scatterbrain, I am sorry, it was already in store.

    - Hey CA, make your game work properly. To the point where it becomes worth modding, at least.

Ah, the `please on bended knee` approach. I used to use that once, many years ago. Never worked. Ignored. Later, that `please` approach will turn to anger when you realise that CA won`t do anything under `please`.

I will be truthful, when Total War: Rome 2 released i had gone back to Rome Total War within just 4 hours, because the game was an absolute disaster. Now after patch 4 beta i feel that i can play Total War: Rome 2 even if it still has a ton of bugs & issues because the game is atleast playable now bit it had a huge way to go yet.

I was just trying to be polite Humble Warrior
    .
I am now signing up to the official forums i shall post this their please look out for my thread and post your opinions i shall link you to the thread on the official forums.

    Cheers!.
