Leader always max authority?

Hi, it's been a long time since I've played SS, I'm not up to date.

I have a problem: my leaders always have max authority (or near maxed out), even when they have negative traits. Right now I have a deranged alcoholic leader (minus 5 or 6 with only one bonus to authority "sharp"), despite that he still has maxed out authority!

I'm playing the Crusader states VH/H SS6.4 Bgr 2.5, Next heir mod (he does not have the crown on which forever reason gives + 8 authority O_O )

I never ever have to deal with illoyal generals, same in the campaign before playing as HRE.

It this a bug or was that feature removed because it was considered tedious or is everything working as intended and I don't get the game mechanics??

I think this happens if authority goes below zero or something. So mixing next heir mod might be vaguely conflicting with something possibly when the authority ANC is removed from the king. Did the current king once have the ANC? If not then some other combination of traits might have taken the king below zero.

This can also happen simply because the game has so many player bonuses that the king simply has well over ten authority. In BGRV for example I have complete control over authority, having removed non bgr bonuses and penalties, and so can ensure this does not happen.

yes, he has negative authority think, but he never had the crown on as far as i remember

+ 3 from being leader and + 1 from sharp

-3 alcoholic -2 deranged

popularity does not effect authority i guess?

is there a way to fix the negative authority bug?

You could give him a positive authority trait via console...
