well i havent played rtw or been on these formuns for about a year

i wanted to know if i buy the 2 expansions will i be able to play the maps from the rtw and and when i install them will i be able to use the new features of the 2 expansions in the rtw imperial campaing

if no then i prob wont buy them

You can play RTW 1.5 through the BI exe. Alexander I don't know

Playing through the BI exe makes the ai more aggressive and more prone to naval invasions. I don't know about the special abilities or hordes

so basicly alexander and barbarian invasion are seperate games...

i was talking bout if they were like age of empires 2 where u can play the expansion from the normal game and use all its new features...

Sorry. I'll try to make this as clear as possible. You have BI and RTW installed patched to 1.5/1.6. By adding mod: at the command line you can play RTW(with julii) using some BI features. I have only done this through mods so I don't know if the abilities like shieldwall get in.
