Hey, cant start rome with ur mod (beta4)
Most mods are incompatible with patch 4, hope for a soon update of this awesome mod.
And btw, units now walk towards my army and than start running when they get close.![]()
Wel i tought somthing like that.but he updated today and i kinda tought for beta4 tbh.Not rushing him just i tought it might been a bug .cheers
BTW Master Necromancer , i like ur idea of the javelins 4-5 shots wil be good and high dmg
Love the modwould love a x1.5 unit size version. Fantastic job on the balancing and I agree with the above discussion on differentiating ranged units. Great idea with the javelins. Can't wait for a patch 4 version!

Head up for you about one of important features in Beta patch 4, AP is re-balanced and formation (especially Testudo) is fixed!

Does the mod work with patch 4 or it crashes? I usually never install beta patches and I'm currently working on the update so I haven't tried. If somebody can confirm if it crashes I will install the patch and work on the issue, elsewhere many of the gameplay balances of the patch are futile because I'm working on a complete overhaul of units anyway.

Yes, I've read the patch notes, however IMO the changes I made are much better. CA simply removed AP from arrows but didn't increase normal damage, that makes arrows too nerfed. Also flaming arrows in this way have no role (while instead I put AP on flaming arrows just for this). As for Javelins CA gave too little AP (just 2) when they should be all the contrary.
So, all in all, there's nothing to change in my tables because the way I made them is better, again IMO.

edit: for me the game wont start with the moviefile in datafolder
this is the only mod i run - plus edited startpos.esf to 4 turns/per

Ok, so it seems to crash.
Can somebody please help me? I will not be able to install patch 4 beta till tomorrow, so if in the meantime somebody could be able to post me the data_rome2.pack in the data folder in mediafire I would be grateful.
P.S: The file is huge, but if compressed with 7-zip it is about 100 MB so it will not take that much to upload. This or I will have to wait tomorrow to see what change in the tables create the crash.
P.P.S: If somebody knows a little about PFM it's very easy to understand which table(s) cause the issue. Simply load the mod in PFM and delete one table at a time till the game starts and then report to me which are the table(s) that cause the crash. Naturally you will get full credits for your help in the next update.
EDIT: IMO it is just the projectiles table that causes the crash and maybe battle_entities, but until I cannot download the patch 4 beta I cannot be sure. If somebody could upload the data_rome2.pack packed (with 7-zip or WinRAR) in mediafire I could be grateful and I would be able to immediately produce a version that works with patch 4 so that people could use it in the meantime (while the next updated version with the new changes is ready).
