Rome 2 burns while some fiddle wanting to burn RS2
I been spending some time over in the Rome 2 forum and occasional I'd mention the virtues of RS2 compared to R2 as it is now. I got a lot of agreements but it did upset some people in some of the threads, mainly though, one thread in particularly.
The posts start out casual and then escalates. Reading back over the posts I realized I could've made better points in some, but I made the points I wanted. If you have any interest in checking it out go to the R2 forum and find this thread;
'Come on then!, who else thinks Rome Total War is better than Total War: Rome 2 is it just me ?.' Find it on page 1 or 2.
EDITED 10-1-13 Page 3 now, which likely means its headed for oblivion since most people there aren't interested in a thread that turned into a continuous back forth over RS2 and R2. Can't blame them. that's not the original topic of the thread.
Posts start on page 5 of the thread #99, 100, 101, 104, 106, 109, 110, 111, 114, 115, 116, 117, 119. #119 is my last post at this time.
I'm playing RS2 with the 4 tpy mod right now, but I take breaks and see what's cooking in the Rome 2 forums, and yes things are a cooking. Probably take a vacation from there soon. Give RS2 my full attention.

Re: Rome 2 burns while some fiddle wanting to burn RS2
I took a look at said thread.
I might be walking on thin ice here, as my experience with the most recent patch for RS 2.6 isn't extensive, but im gonna risk it and say: people need to play the new RSII extensively.
Before taking a break to try out R2, i was doing a Sparta campaign. Now, after controlling most of Greece, cash isn't really a problem even if your treasury gets nearly depleted due to building costs.
But that's not what i wanted to point out. Thing is, after being into the campaign for a while, i was seeing radical AI moves and factions that became empires which i hadn't seen before - and im talking considerable sizes here - like a large Ptolemaic kingdom, Belgae and Boii actually carving out empires for themselves.
Why is this relevant? Cause sooner or later you'll have to face these factions and comment of "there's no late game challenge" loses some of it's ground.
Summarizing, i think the AI became more aggressive agaisn't itself and it makes for an interesting game.
