I'm still encountering the same problem. No matter if I save it under a different name/location it reverts changes on re-opening...

Good to see a new editor for Rome 2!
I remember being able to take the Save Games from Empire at war and copying over the Campaign Model file to the Startpos.Esf, thus replicating the save game world and allowing you to change nations.. so far i have had no luck in trying this..
is it possible in any way to achieve this?
Thanks for any help.
Sorry was mistaken, still working great.

Is there any way of editing a generals age using this?

Is there any method to copy and paste segments of the ESF? I'm finding it intolerable to have to edit by hand the new mercenary entries I've added every time there's a new patch. If there's a way to copy over the info in the mercenary pools wholesale or the faction province details and such, it'd be ideal
Why is this stickied in the Rome 2 mods forum it moved mysteriously.

Hello, I have used this tool in the past to edit a starting faction's money (mainly Carthage and Egypt). However, since patch 4 and 5, I have been unable to do it. When ever I change the amount under Faction Array, the numbers (money amount) turn red instead of green. I know when I have successfully done this in the past, the new starting amount would be in green.
Daniu, is there any way to make it so that we can edit array entries to be NULL? Right now certain entries require a number but, for example, if you want to remove territories from a faction you need to be able to leave that space blank.
I know I can unpack the esf file but I was just wondering if there was a way to do it within EditSF?
Thanks for all your work!

I have never used this before so bear with me. How exactly do you use this editor to change the starting gold for a faction?
Basil II Emperor of Byzantium, Bulgar Slayer
Not really. ESF is very volatile so you might be editing the wrong value.
It's really more of a topic for the ESF Editing subforum, I have next to no experience actually editing those files.

Is there an ESF blending facility in this to auto mix 2 files?
