A gun going off in an airplane in the movies is usually followed by combustive decompression, where the pressure in the cabin has to be equalized with the pressure outside the cabin; even through a tiny hole, say a bullet hole. And in the movies, things get sucked out of the hole...but more usually the hole ends up breaking away into a larger and larger hole until seats and stewardesses and the bad guys get sucked out.
This does not happen in real life, a gun going off in a plane will not cause this to happen. All that will happen is the gas masks will be deployed to assist with breathing and the plane will go on flying as normally, probably to make an emergency landing.
