Holy crap dude, you really made progress. Nice work. I've been re-skinning every faction I can in vanilla M2TW, so these units will really come in handy for replacing the early era western European units that don't have many mods focused on them. War of the West is the only mod I can think of that has equally well done models and textures for the English and French levy and early period units. Looking forward to a release, though I'll have to wait for your DLV release since I have no way of converting the .ms3d files to mesh files or .psd files to texture files.

EDIT: Just saw the DLV pack will be released before the modded resource pack. Just what I was looking for, thanks. Once again, very nice work. You've got quite some talent man.

I look forward to see your modeler pack release. On personal note, I'm pretty sure it will be an useful material to see the way you work and to learn more how to "texture" units.
Once again, very good stuff!!! Well done!!! And very impressive job!!!

WAAAAAAAAAAT. You sir are one skilled individual. Might I ask what animation pack they'll be using? Banzai's are the only ones I know of.

It took a good portion of my weekends to test and fix the bugs... i would never expect to have made so many small mistakes. In any case, it is done. I will update the official thread later tonight. The pack is for DLV + BB4.23 onwards. Here is the thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...9#post13624009

    And a little eye candy:

I was wondering which animation pack you have used for the archers and crossbowmen? Their movements look great.

Those are Banzai's bowstring animations. All the big mods have it, including DLV.

I had a rather long break from modding. There is a project that i am currently part of. I am working on Gondor units. Here are some previews, thought i might post it. I only spent about 6-7 hours this time since some of the parts i had already made earlier as part of the visual overhaul for DLV.

    Gondor Militia

    Gondor Militia Upgrade

Its amazing how much normal maps and DirectX 9 can still do. I especially liked the result with the padding.

The poly count is about 2000-2500. For a rough comparison vanilla m2tw units are about 1500-2000 polys.

Very nice stuff as usual. Keep going!!!

Btw, I'd like to see one model with 2000-2500 poly count but without any texture, only the faces, just by curiosity.

Here are Ithilien rangers i made during these weekends:

    Ithilien Rangers

3000 polys this time because of the cape and 3d arrows in the quiver, but you generally don't have more than 2-3 of these on the battlefield.

    Lifthrasir, here you go

    Meshes

Vanilla M2TW meshes are 6-sided (e.g. arms and bodies are hexagonal cylinders). I made my own 8-sided human body last year. From there it is easy to make custom bodies like the ones above. It improves models at little cost to performance. The rest is up to textures.

Many thanks Sandy, very interesting. I guess that it might also increase the time you spend to assign the vertices correctly
    But the results worth it
