Default (Question) Change Color pattern of individuals units

    Hello everyoneˇˇˇ.

I'm working with variantmeshes by now, and modifiying some units, but I would love to change the color pattern of the units to not match the overall color pattern of the faction. Is there a tutorial to show me how it's done?. Some of you could give me some advice?

    Thank you.

What you seek is located in the "units_variants_colours_table" under "unit_variant_colours", add any specific unit there and you can change the primary, secondary and tertiary color's to be different from the faction color's.

Can anybody tell me how to add a specific unit in the "unit_variant_tables"? I tried it with the Evocati cohort by addding "Rom_Evocati_Cohort" and some blue colour. Didn't work. unit_variant name wrong? Where can I see how the units name is?

All units present in the game appear already listed inside the last column to the far right, the one called "unit_variant". So all you have to do to get individual colours on a given unit is click on the "Add Row" button, then find to the faction the unit in question is supposed to work for in the list inside the first column to the left, the one named "faction", enter the colour values etc in the subsequent columns, and finally look up the corresponding unit designation in the last column. In your case, it will be labelled "Roman_Evocati_Cohort".

Sometimes the label is a little different than expected, and if you don't look carefully in the list, you might pick the wrong one, end up seeing no effect in game, and not understanding why. For instance, if you want to mod Parthian Horse Archers, you might think it's enough to select "Eas[tern]_Horse_Archers" after choosing "Parthia" as faction. But you need to pick "Eas_Parthian_Horse_Archers" further down on the list instead. Similarly, if you want to mod the Mercenary Cretan Archers, you may look in vain in the section for mercenaries, as most other types of mercenaries are found there, but in this case you'll find the correct entry under "Greek_Mercenary_Cretan_Archers" higher up on the list.
