Frequent crash between turns and battles

The game crashes right when I click end turn button or when I go into battle (not auto-resolve) or when my battle is over. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this frequent. It happens about once in every 6 battles or turns. I suspect it might have to do with the game being installed in my program files x86, but my rome total war is installed through Steam, so it's not like I have a choice. I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced the same thing and solved it somehow.

Normally, frequent crashes is a symptom of poor performance. If your Computer has multiple Cores that can cause an issue, since Rome can't use more than one.

If frequent crashes are a novel development, try to replace the EB script. I had a similar issue with my Roman campaign where I was resigned to fight one battle before the game crashed on me. The price of a late campaign, I thought. Then I read the thread where the talk was about damages to the script if you reload several savegames one after another. I remembered doing this so I replaced the EB script file and the game immediately became more stable.

@ooji do these crashes happen after battles exceeding around 3000 men or more? CTD after the fact is a known problem for large battles. The official fix is to wait for the victory or defeat song to finish and then exit.

Actually, my laptop has quad cores. I think I have been able to run Rome on dual core computer just fine though.

Yes, it happens for big battles for the most part. There have been some small battle crashes if I remember right though.

How do you replace the EB script? I definitely save and reload the game when I lose battle or to see an epic battle again. So that might have to do with it!
