    Default vid card heat

    Hey guys, im having a serious serious problem. After putting in my 2nd hd, my vid card temp has sky rocketed. I get error messages saying it is 2 hot, i am hearing the beap telling me its too hot. I have no real idea why it is doing this, i even switched to omega drivers to force the vid card fan on 100%, yet it doesnt help. Any ideas? Thanks, -Leon

    I had that problem with my previous system, I think. It was a very crude solution, but I cracked open the side andj ust put a fan right up against it.

    I'd see about manuvering the Hard drive slot to a better position and pimping it out with fans. Other than that I can't say for certain.

    Works for me, tho cleaning cards becomes an issue, keep some 'canned air' around and use frequently, eh?

    If ya just HAVE to keep your case closed, I reccomend 'slot fans (fit in card slots) generally 'out-blow'; Bigger case fans (get the can-opener out, make sure every pierced part of your case has either an in or out flowing fan, preferably so that air moves in one direction to out-ports);

    Possibly it's time for a new case? google water-cooled cases, for a start, eh?

    ME like REALLY BIG external fans with the side off the case, but then fan noise doesn't bother me, lol!

    I know a guy who bought on of those 'dorm refrigerators' and mounted his case inside that, making holes appropriatly, tho I suppose some peeps wouldn't want to hear a 'fridge' running all the time on top of thier 'fan noise',......note that he was more than a bit of a 'clocker', lol!

    In the end, tis all about proformance vs money, eh? An open case with a small box fan is prolly cheapest, but UMMV....

    Good luck, dude!
