Default Useful Tidbits and Information Thread: Things you may not know about Rome 2 that can enhance gameplay

This thread is for people to post their well-earned little useful tidbits of information about Rome 2 that is not obvious to everyone.

For example, I just figured out that if you alt-attack a unit with pila armed legionaries, you can force them to use their pila under almost any circumstances. While not as good as fire-at-will since it will be followed up with a charge before and after, it's still better than nothing.

Or, if you become an empire playing as rome, you gain faction wide bonus of -10% upkeep and -25% corruption, at the 'cost' of not being able to adopt, assassinate, spread rumors, or give promotions (killing political scene essentially, which is a GOOD thing since it's so half baked and not worth the cost).

Also, I found out that you get money for demolishing buildings in captured settlements, although I don't know if damage to the buildings is factored in regarding how much money you get, or whether you can also get money back if you demolish buildings you yourself built.

Lastly, monetary benefit of looting a captured settlement seems to largely depend on development and number of buildings present in the settlement - I remember I sacked one settlement twice, and received the same amount of gold even though the second time all the buildings were damaged.

If you have any such useful bits of informations and experiences to share, post here on this thread.

    Discuss.
