Champion type changed?

Hi everybody,

Since I started with a Suebi campaign, I have had several champions. The first two were Shieldmaiden, the third a Celtic Warlord I manipulated into my service, thus exceeding the championcap of 2 at that moment. At that moment I noticed already one of the recruitable champions became a warlord instead of a Shieldmaiden, although unrecruitable due to the cap. However, when one of my Shieldmaidens died and my empire had grown enough to support three champions, the only options were Warlords.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is it a bug or meant to? Can I expect to recruit more Shieldmaidens in the future?

First time I heard of it, maybe you researched something. Does the Shieldmaiden do anything different things than the Warlord, or any other champion whatsoever.

No, a Shieldmaiden is the Germanic Champion, so they do the same things. Except they look different.
Maybe the barbarian factions have several types of champions, but I doubt that.

I had something similair with the dignitaries of Macedon, I think they are jsut randomly generated being either a male or female.

Yeah, there are male and female versions of some (if not all) the agents. As the Iceni I had the option of a Male or Female champion.
