    Default Is province growth broken?

In the trade and income summaries and province details, I cannot find where the growth per turn shows up. Does growth actually accrue and if so, can you point me to its indicators? If growth is not a factor, all the sanitation buildings become near worthless.

There is a little green bar at the top of province panel, when you move the mouse over it will show the growth.

This. I'm afraid you'll get no more detailed information on province growth than that.

I have not seen anything in the Province Details block either. However, on the top left corner of the province info box there is a very small box with the current excess population. The current level of required new population will be shown there--for me it has been anything between 0 and seven. It should continue to accrue until it reaches the required amount--from my experience that number is either 5 or 7. The required amount for growth in each region is shown in a small box at the bottom of the province box.

There is also a pop up population growth tip on the right side income and excess food data just below the mini map. It seems that the more excess food you have the higher the population growth is--according to that little data box.

Growth is not evenly applied--nor is it concentrated. It seems to be a guessing game as to where it will be applied to. If you watch the excess level growth you will know which province will likely get new available structures first.

I have maintained a reasonable growth (playing as Rome) for about 100 years--then absolutely no growth for more than 50 years. This happened even though there was a large surplus (85 to 120) in food each turn. So, it might actually be broken at some point. Perhaps there is some explanation, such as feeding armies, but it seems to me that "excess? should mean excess.

Growth is not an economic factor, but it is the one which decides how fast your cities expand. High growth means you will get all the possible building slots faster (useful early game, not so much later).

Province wealth doesn't accumulate over time like in Shogun 2. However, because normal tax rate is 100% of a provinces wealth, a flat bonus of 200 is rather decent (especially once you add all the multipliers into it). Part of the reason this game is so easy economically actually...

200 wealth in Rome 2, is better than 200 + 20/turn in Shogun 2 until ~50 turns have passed (both on normal tax rate, ignoring any bonuses/maluses)
