Do you have mods installed ?

If yes, you won't be able to play multiplayer if the other player doesn't have the same mods.

The only mods that work for MP are the ones that change colours and skins.

I moved All mods , But there Is a file that add some new units to the game ... should I remove it ?

yes! you need to have a vanilla game to have compatible versions!

What patch are you using, 2 or 3 beta? Do you have automatic updates enabled for Rome 2?

I am using patch 3 beta , yes the automatic update is enabled .

you can't, but you could also try to repair your files in steam. Rightclick on the game in the list, go to properties and it's in there somewhere. Worked for me.

Not everyone has beta patch 3, therefore you can only play mulitplayer with people who have the patch enabled. In the picture you posted above, you could join that server because the people are clearly using beta patch 3, while most people are probably just using patch 2.

Some people like to wait for patches to become official so that the problem scan get worked out, or they just don't check the forums for news on updates.
