Stuck in allied city

Hello everyone,

I have an army full of basically max experienced units. I put the army really close to an allied city, because they were getting messed up real bad. I helped them fight a few battles, gave them a lot of money, and now my army is literally stuck inside their city. The threat to the city is gone, but I can't get the army out. Anyone have any experience with this yet?

I think the problem is that the city has expanded and enveloped your army rendering it stuck.

You may need to load an earlier save to remedy this. I believe the newly released beta patch 3 addresses this issue.
