Default Can someone PLEASE explain Icenti tribes & politics?

I have a good handle on every part of the game but I have no clue what the heck I'm doing when it comes to politics.

Am I a member of the Elder Tribe?

When I do something like promote a member of Elder tribe it says -15 Elder tribe....what does this mean?

I tried marrying some into the "other tribe" cause it said +15 Elder Tribe......but I didn't see a change.

Can some one either explain the politics/faction side of this or point me to a guide?

    Thank you in advance.

A civil war will happen. Sometime. Characters die. Every turn.

No advantage gained through it and I don't think the aspect is finished at all.

    Just ignore it.

Leliana: You had a difficult life. Deep down, at the center of your being, you are a good person. I believe that.
Shale: Even though I have never demonstrated this aspect? How peculiar.
Leliana: You aren't all stone, Shale. There is a person inside of you.
Shale: If so, it is because I ate it.

In my game chars are not dying every turn, more like every 20-40.

    Anybody else have some insight?

Listen mate, pay absolutely no attention to politics. It's just a cobbled on piece of nonsense to make the game appear deeper than it really is.

You will encounter the exact same politics and exact same intrigues regardless of factions.

As a primitive fishing village, you as the Iceni can jump on a magic ship with your starting units and sail all the way to Jerusalem and subjugate it. If such scant regard has been employed in basic gameplay terms how much less do you think has been payed to politics.

Pay it no heed mate, it's nonsense.

Ok, so it's bugged. I'm not talking about unrealistic bullocks, I mean the actual mechanics don't mean anything. Good to know because to be honest, I can't make heads or tails of it.

    It's a ruse mate.

Look, if you're playing Rome for example, you play one of three families. Your family can be wiped out, you have no control over your family, all your armies may be led by other families. The truth is, none of it matters, whatever happens and whatever family you have chosen you are still playing the faction Rome.

It's a sleight of hand mate, you're so busy trying to figure out this whimsical nonsense that you take your eye off the ball without realising how shallow things are overall.

We just got to hope on patches.

It's time like this when I wish CA would just blatantly rip-off paradox's CK 2 Dynasty system instead of trying to come up which is quite frankly useless. I would have rather seen an in-depth family system with a multitude of traits to similiar to EB's system. They could have given the game an immersive role play system.

My daughter got me RTw2 (hmmmm) and I grudgingly installed it. `I knew you really wanted it,` she commented.

After a while she said, where`s the politics and the Senate stuff like Rome 1?

Yea, she watched me play the original Rome years ago.

Seems like politics is completely fake in RTW2.

The only factions with functional politics are rome and carthage. No one else has working politics. Your influence can't be too high or too low in both of these factions or else a civil war happens.
