Default Patch 3 beta alt-tab problem solution? Elaborate Please

According to some threads on the web, there is a way to get around the alt-tab issue that's been present for patch 3 beta.

Apparently, you need to hold the alt button while alt-tabbing out, then select the right option from the alt tab menu to get rome 2 back to its original resolution - but it doesn't work for me.

Anyone know the exact method? It would help a lot of people. Thank you in advance.

Just run borderless window(fullscreen) mode with; http://gamingprotocol.net/total-war-...in-borderless/
Ive done it since Empire, makes using 2nd monitors for shows and stuff work too since warscape hates more then 1 monitor.

Found a solution for the Alt+Tab problem. I tried to do what YOKE suggested in post #2 but it did not work for me. Every time I tried to change the graphics settings to open in windows mod, with BETA patch 3 that is, my computer experience a CTD. Here is how I found a work around.

    1. Uninstall BETA patch 3 from the game.
    2. Exit Steam.
    3. Open Steam again an wait for steam to install Rome II Patch 2.
    4. Launch the game with Patch 2 installed.
    5. Go to the graphical preferences and click the check box for Windows Mode.
    6. Execute, You should be in windows mode without a crash.
    7. Now follow the instructions at the link given by YOKE in post #2
    8. You should be running Rome II on your desktop as a background.
    9. Reinstall Rome II BETA patch 3.
    10. Done. You will not have Alt+Tab graphics resolution problems.

Hope this will help others. Cheers...
