Change a Factions Starting Armies?
I'm looking to give Rome at least one Proper Consular Army fort when the campaign starts (two velites, four hastati, four principes, four triarii, one equites, two socii equites, one equites extraordinarii, one extraordnarii, one general) along with one or two Praetorium armies (half a Consular army).
Any info on how I would go about doing this??
Many thanks,
Russ

I may know the answer, and because of your attitude, will not want to help. Do not alienate people.

Re: Change a Factions Starting Armies?
Look, I made two threads asking how to change a factions icon (I want to change Romes to SPQR on a red field, which I've drawn up in paint.net), and each thread got 30-40 views but no replies. Surely someone would know how to do that.
I'm an old fart, I don't quite grasp this modding business, I'm just trying to make Rome II more enjoyable for me. So please, can anyone help?

Sorry for the rant before, but I really need some help with this; Could someone explain how I go about changing the starting army compositions? There are no tutorials for this.
Please.

Forget abut their attitude. They're elitists and want to be treated like real stars...kids theese days, you know.
You will want to edit the startpos.esf for this, which in your case, I consider you can't get done, because you lack the understanding of code hacking and modding.
I'd try Google with the specific search tags. I know how to raise unit numbers for the starting troops, but yet have to find a file that allows me to alter which units are spawning.

Thanks for the reply Darth, I'll do some searching and see if I can come up with anything; Though, if anyone else stumbles across this thread please give me a hand any way you can.

Re: Change a Factions Starting Armies?
so far I have only been able to change which units a starting faction has at the beginning. I have added units successfully, but they crash after a battle with them finishes. Something to do with the sequential numbering system used. To do this you just edit your startpos file and find the faction you want to edit. For Rome I edit in the 4 principes units and 2 triarii units as you can build the others pretty much right out the gate. Basically giving you the starting army you desire. Sorry I don't completely solve your problem.
