    Default Is auto-resolve bugged?

I'm playing rome, campaign vh, battle medium. when i auto resolve i pretty much always win even when im severely out matched based on the balance bar. like i would auto resolve 1 stack vs 3 and get a heroic victory killing like 7 to 1, even when enemy stacks are full of silver chevron elite units.

anyone know how exactly auto resolve is determined?

I dunno how exactly autoresolve works, but it's a poor choice. Battle outcomes are often strange: you loose too many troops when fight with fresh recruits and loose too less when fight with silver chevron troops and so on. Also autoresolve gives experience inadequatly. What I've noticed, that if your genearal has many stars, autoresolve will greatly favor you. Also, if you autoresolve against AI faction leader, expect too big losses. If your army is being led by a captain it will also lead to disastrous outcome.

From what I've seen, a general with high command stat + silver/gold chevroned units chew through everything with minimal losses 90 percent of the time. I've had my Spartan faction leader autoresolve to victory three Macedon stacks that spawned after i attempted to sever the head of the beast by landing in Macedonia and viciously taking Tesallonike and Pella the same turn.

I've noticed the same in my rome compaign. I decided to keep Dyrrachium and was forced to devote an entire legion just to that one damn city (talk about cost/benefit heh). Anyway, at first it was a tough slog but with some good victories I built up my general and have high XP troops and I've noticed I can autoresolve battles with light losses. Granted, the AI is now sending 1/2 stacks at my full lesion, so that will also play a role.

I'm getting the same results while playing H/H, Rome 0-turn. I've had several heroic victories, both on land and on sea, with Autoresolve. I think the "worst" one was when one of my ships defeated five Greek ships of the same class.

pretty standard, few cavs, 1 general, 2-3 archers, and rest melee infantry. I do have upgrades and 2 bronze chevrons from econ+fort region thing; but enemy army has like 2 silver chevrons etc.
mind you, these battles are such odds that i would have LOST to the AI if i fought manually, and that really is saying alot.
