It's actually a very in-debth and insightful review ... and it's funny.

Angry Joe is just a hardcore gamer and he plays all my games and hence I like his reviews because I like his taste. Besides he's fking hilarious in that review. Caligula scene was funny, the cuts between the WTF song and the AI programmer was also hilarious. He also tested the game extensively including multiplayer, though he shouldn't claim to be non-biased and also claim to be a fanboy at the same time! Also, his passion for his games does overrule objectivity at times, but I would be the same in his shoes, and hey, he's just one dude giving his opinion like other reviewers. However, you know at the very least that he's not a paid reviewer and is a gamer like everyone else.

If you have read his posts on FB he was just as excited for Rome 2 as anyone else, but as time went by, he was wondering whether he was the only one feeling disappointed with the end product, and hell he got disappointed indeed, as I did. When the game came out I was like yay, then as I played it more... I went online to find out too whether I was the only one feeling disappointed. Same thing happened in Mass Effect 3, after the ending I was like "WTF" and first thing I typed on google was "mass effect ending" and what do you know, my views were mirrored by thousands. Last time Bioware pulled that s--- on me was back in Neverwinter Nights... HORRIBLE ending. Why they used that style again... meh

If you do watch the review though he does touch on many points, some of which other reviewers have failed to mention. However, as I stated, sometimes his passion gets in the way of objectivity; battle speeches are in the game, and there are speeches depending on the situation but it's not as well fleshed out as in RTW, still I like how it's during the battle now and not prior to deployment. He admits it though, he mentioned "I was going to lie to myself but when the game comes out in this state... everything is amplified" heh; He also called out the Greek DLC for what it is; take the Spartans out that everyone wants to play and make everyone pre-order, that's a shameless cash grab.

Some quotes are very much mirrored by fans, that "underneath all this BS, you know there's something worth playing" which I agree with wholeheartedly. R2TW is a diamond in the rough, the team at CA should be proud of it, but acknowledge that they seriously screwed it up and left behind many, many disappointed fans with the state of its release. They should learn to back up their promises, and even if they think they had, TEST the freakin game so the features are correctly implement or else fans won't see it and feel ripped off.

Though quite frankly I prefer folks to be more constructive in their criticisms rather than just saying "your game is ...." "gimme my money back", and if you're angry, let it out constructively. I don't believe CA are a bunch of idiots who enjoy shipping out crap products. This game has all their bloody names on it. When people work on something they want to be proud of it, and hell they should be. But the game is a TEAM effort, and somewhere along the lines of production obviously things got screwed up. But of course it's tough so meh.

Exactly!!! Spot on Jackal! I loved the original rtw so much. That was the game that actually got me into RTS games in the first place. So obviously I was super excited when I heard they were making rome 2, preordered and everything just to be so let down. They really hyped it up so much just so ca and sega can get paid. Its like its about quantity now not quality, and us as the fans are the ones to pay.

I always thought because he is on youtube he can be honest. I mean who advertises on gaming sites, its publishers thats who and its the reason people adapted to their scores of 8 being average and 6 being terrible and just ignore every number below that.
