This will be a awesome idea, hopefully you will continue to make this.
I'd definitely consider playing this. What are you planning in terms of scope? Is it going to be mostly unit and custom battle focused, or is it going to include a campaign?
at first it will focus the units and custom battles.
making a good campaign would take really much time, but it would be possible. with sparta as mycenae, bithynia as wilusa (troy), ptolemaics as egypt, seleucids as assur, pontos as kaska and so on
there are definitely enough factions to make a complete oberhaul. but as said, at the moment i can just edit custom battle and camapign only very limited.

Sounds fun. I'll probably download it if you make it.
You need original indo-european names/words for most factions, you know....
*desperately tries to play smart*
yeah i know, but i dont give a . *desperately tries to be cool*
i will just call mycenaeans mycenaeans and not what-the-heck-ever-they-called-themselves. but troy wouldnt be troia or illiad but wilusa. yeah, science!
and if you decode Linear A for me i could even give the creatan dudes their real names.
anyways, here are some screenies of early unit version.
i request some constructive criticism!
but keep in mind: we cant make new models yet! i have to use existing ones! and yes i know, they should use bronze spears, but i didnt retexture them yet

Sure, just a second, i will decode it in no time. No seriously, alot of words survived up to this day. Google that , you will find some cool stuff to use.
Now wait a minute, here is a proposition.
It might not be historically correct BUT, i know a guy who is deep into linguistics, and i mean deep. What he did was to create the basis for 2 indo-european conlangs (constructed languages). He calls them "Acidic" and "Alkalic" respectively. Now, what he CAN do, is to create indo-european words and names, for you to use for any Aryan or otherwise IE lingustic group in your mod (that is Hittites, Trojans, Achaeans, Danaans, Yawanah, Hellas, the various Iranic people etc).
The procedure wont take more than a few days whenever you have a roster ready. Are you down for it? I am pretty serious about it.
sounds pretty awesome.but at the moment i would just need a list or a map with the significant cultures and ofcourse their names. and (if possible) a few hints what these people wore.as the average total war player is not familiar with proto-indogerman language he would have no ing hunch what hes recruiting.

Proto-IndoEUROPEAN, you are not the only linguistic group in Europe.
There are many an interactive map (or simple bmp) on the internet. Just think about which era you want to see (with a +- 100 years) and search in google. I'll do my research as well, see what i can find.
Also, it happens that i am fluent in vuhlkan-gen-lis. Sooooo... pretty please, with alot of sugar on top.
This sounds like a great idea. How about "Ages of Man: Total War," since that is where the term "Bronze Age" comes from.
Maybe as a final technology research we could have iron smithing, thus opening up a way to iron wielding warriors. Of course that would probably be an endgame technology to research. By that point you would either be way too strong, or the iron will make you such.
the hittites would have this technology right from the beginning....yeah good idea.
as ye wish, i dont careProto-IndoEUROPEAN

about the name....why ages of man?
i thought about sth like this:
1200 BC: Dawn of an Era [A Bronze Age Modifikation]
Wilusa: The Real Illiad [A Bronze Age Modifikation]
and so on
this map seems reliable:

When in general it is, though you wont even need such a big man. A european/asian is enough.
One of the problems in warscape (and every other engine to be honest) is that you really can't properly represent the current situation to the fullest. Most europeans at that time, and not only, didn't have social classes, didn't have any sort of economy other than centralized planning and in many cases (if not all) there was an absence of state. So, how exactly you would represent that.... i have no idea. Of course Egypt, Troy, Hittites and others did have state and centralized power, taxation, social classes, slavery etc but for Europe.... not really.
Hoooly Yes Yes >Yes< For god's love! I Wold love a mod in that era. It is a Genius Idea, and I wold support it!!! I have always wanted to play a game in The Bronze Age, I hope you'll do so!
