Anyhow, here's a goody for all of you followers:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...avy_Shield.rar

It's a low fantasy Shield for all of you pups who want to play with it. It has 3 tgas and one PSD file. The Texture Resolution is at 512x512 so there might be some quality loss when you have to shrink it down (unless you have some personal work around). Have fun!

That's a beautiful piece of work, TOG.
I think the front side would look better if you added partially desaturated spots on the painted leather.
There is a stark contrast between the "freshness" and liveliness of the front side colours, on one hand and the worn (and perhaps partially mouldy) wood of the backside, on the other.

Thanks for the comment. I do agree with the color job though. However I threw that on there are a last minute paint job. In the PSD the color is a separate layer so that people can add stuff on without having to damage the original textures.

Also if anyone implements it into the game, please send me screen shots! Would love to see what it looks like.

Truth be told, it will not look the same in all games.
I have done a little skinning for Rome:Total War and it only uses diffuse maps and glossiness maps.
I am better with models for Medieval II:Total War, which uses normal maps (with both X and Y inverted), in addition to diffuse and glossiness maps.
However, it does not use specular maps.
I have not done any modelling for later games.

Can you explain to me the difference between the specular and the glossiness maps in your implementation?

Put simply, the gloss map is the intensity of the spec map. You use your spec to determine what areas receive specular highlights, and the gloss map to adjust how intense it is.

    Very nice.
My usual 2 cents : I would have made the nose finer (the part between the eyes) and the face fold (from the nose and above the mouth, between the upper lip and the cheek) smoother

It looks smooth to me but I agree with Lifth on the nose though, a little bit more finer.

    A few crits:
    - Her cheeks seem very puffy and full.
    - Lips seems quite proportionally big compared to other facial features
    - Jaw line looks very prominent and "strong" unless its intentional?
    - The clavicle looks very straight, when it actually bends and appears in an "S" like form.

What is your reference? What is the style of the character? Without context its hard to judge.

EDIT: changed the eyebrow, make the eye sockets far less deep than they were. Somethings you don't catch the first time around...

Hey peeps, it's been busy the past week and a half. Thanks for the reviews and critiques, much appreciated on it! With all the feed back I decided to redo from scratch again (practice makes perfect!). So without further ado here is the WIP. It's still in symmetry mode for the sake of easy editing at the moment:

Hey guys, thanks for the comments! Better responses than what I get at Polycount (aka zero). Anyhow yesterday I was playing around with some textures for an old character I did and found a really nifty retro style after goofing off. The quality mimics software rendered graphics from the early-mid 90's games before 3D cards were big while utilizing higher poly count for better animation and outline. I'd like to call it Lo-Fi style, a pun based off of Hi-Fi. Take a look for yourself below and tell me what you think:

Reminds me a lot like Quake 1
