what you expected from CA ?

I expected CA to make a scenario and story for all fations , makes a real historic battles connected the story ...
graphics are good but gameplay is? no in my opinion !
the best was Rome 1 total war and also medieval 2 !

There is some inconsistency in the design philosophy by CA in this game.

I mean there IS a "story mode" that is really just choosing one of up to four options from which you might get a bonus or a penalty. But that only happens in certain factions like Rome and Macedon...Carthage has no such feature.

And the Romans get an auxiliary unit feature that basically replaces the need for mercenaries...no other faction gets this.

Yeah what happened to all those "choices" that were supposed to be in the game? I mean, I got like 3-4 choices in the beginning of my campaign (something about an adoption, someone who was lewd, something about sacrificing a white bull) and after that I never saw anything of those again.

i expected them to not deliver what i want, and they succeeded. i'm 60$ richer, but that doesn't make me happy.

what i WANT them to do is another thing.
i want pre-empire total war. i want them to continue with M2TW game mechanics with more complexity and stability.

why can't they just improve something? why must they go off on some weird tangent? i spent more time contemplating strategies in DotA than i ever did in shogun 2

What the Creative Assembly started, a game that no other can offer, Thousands and 10s of thousands of troops on the battlefields, that's why I started playing the 1st Rome Total War!
Graphics fine, ok do your best to inhance them, but your priority sould be bigger scale battles, real time strategy, realastic feel to the game! rather than arcadiash, wish is changing to that slowly it feels, Better diplomacy, I want to be able one day to fight a battle that involves 200,000 men on the battlefield, the battle of gaugamela...
That's what I expect to get when I hear Total war.

Awkward thread... I expect a Total War setting expanding from 1850s till 1930s.

Anyway, Rome 2 Total War, could be better, but it's still fun to play.

People grown up, this complaining is not going anywhere.Stop complaining and lets admit this game is done and gone.They won't the whole game to be redone, so this whinning is useless.Going back to previous titles.Eventhough I did skip an Empire, right now I'm playing it and it feels awesome compare to ROME II.It has everything the TWR title should have.We got spoiled and we probably needed a shock called ROME II.They're not willing to drop current features only to put them down a little bit.Modders are trying to brought this game to some playable level, which is not possible and in their powers to do so.They're wasting time.The main game is still the same unplayable crap with graphics worse than Empire has.And now CA want to listen core players?Well I think it's too late to do so.They should head for another title to get their reputation back or try to redone this disaster?What is being called....ROME II repack?Prices are going down after two weeks from a release!!!!!In it's half what I've paid!!But, sales are going down.One can only wonder why.Deleted the game allready, for something like this I do not have a place in my PC,sorry.

I expected Naked barbarians with their dongs jumping up and down when they were running, along with voluptuous amazons using anime kind of armour.

I fully expected to participate in the weddings of my roman family a la nero.

I also expected hoplites with firm muscles and very small leather underwear, all bearded off course its the new in.

quite disappointed to say the least.
