Those are some top notch ideas dvk. Seems there is still a lot you can do for RS yet.

    Hey DVK

after playing Rome II for a while, i like some concepts (named legions with legacy, very nice) and the graphics are nice.

but i really missed RSII and its epic, long battles where infantry vs infantry lasts a long long time until the playes decides the battle through tactics.

so now i am back playing RSII. For me, it's not the unique named and numbered legions alone that are the key feature of Roma Surrectum. Rather, it's the epic scale and deep development of economics, strategy, characters and cities.
the battles are always a highlight. I absolutely love the battle mechanics and unit balance since Roma Surrectum 2 came out.

if you guys somehow manage to bring 'epicness' to Rome II... that's a dream i am secretly having. Meanwhile, i am once again playing a RSII campaign as Rome, working my way up to a time when the reforms would be called for to professionalise the armies of Rome...

hats off to the RSII team for a piece of work that still keeps me enthralled after all these years

    Hey DVK,

Long time Roma Surrectum player here although I've never felt compelled to sign up until I read your post.

I wanted to say that what you and your team have done with this game is beyond incredible!! And the 2.6 patch has made the game almost perfect for me! I say almost perfect but I can't think of one single way that you could improve it any further. I have no doubts though that you could and you know this as well. The commitment it takes to produce a piece of work as perfect as 2.6 is something I believe very few of us here (myself included!) could ever understand.

I would love to see a 2.7 (not on the RTW2 engine though, just for the record! I haven't purchased it because I knew from the first announcement that it would be a major disappointment Such is my faith now in CA!!) and should you decide that is something you want to do, then I would be as delighted as everyone else. And if you were to announce that 2.6 is the final patch, then I would also be delighted because it is the perfect game for me as it is.

But I have no doubts that we will see a 2.7, a 2.8 and probably an RS3 too because you are a perfectionist DVK. And luckily for all of us, Roma Surrectum is the thing you have made your obsession! All I can say is thank you (and tone and the rest!) for giving me hours (and many sleepless nights) of fun and entertainment. I will be making a donation for the new server as my way of giving something back and should you decide to release an RS3, make sure you have a hefty retail price on it! You'll become an overnight millionaire!

Hello DVK, first of all I just want to thank you for everything and secondly, I think would recommend you to choose the latter option, which is to take a break from modding Rome 1 and prepares for Rome 2. As most of us have experienced the imperfection of Rome 2, we as the TW community desperately NEED talented modders such as yourself to do what CA has failed to do and rebuild Rome 2 so it can live up to its legacy.
Reg: They've taken everything we had and what have they ever given us in return!?
Xerxes: The aqueduct. Reg: Oh yeah, yeah they gave us that. Yeah that's true.
    Activist 1: And the sanitation!
Stan: Oh yes...sanitation, Reg you remember what the city used to be like.
Reg: all right, that's two things that the Romans have done...
    Matthias: And the roads...
Reg: Well yes obviously the roads goes without saying. But apart from...
    Activist 2, 3, 4, 5: Irrigation...Medicine...Education...and the wine...
Francis: Yeah the wine. That's something we'd really miss if the Romans left.

Hi DVK i havent posted on rs2 forums before i dont think, but have been a lurker for far too long.

I just have to say thank you for all your work, yourself and other modders have made the total war series a success for me and many others.

secondly, after many hours in TW:r2, guess what i did? i decided until CA patches the dam game up, and showing me how amazing the original rome mods such as your are compared to a brand new ca title, i have re-installed rome and am right this minute downloading your mod. This mod is by far NOT a dead horse. I would love you to finish it.

After all the mess with rome 2 and after its all patched up and truly a total war game, it would be nice if you COULD mod on that engine, as RS3 on that engine would be so much more work for you it would perhaps be better if u created a mod with at first smaller scope and with maye a new title so you dont have to feel you must 'live up' to this amazing piece of art you have created.

BUT if you dont mod on Rome 2, its not the end of the world and as you have seen from this thread RS2 will still be for many more years by myself, al the others on the forum, and all the lurkers out there ( i seeeeee you lurkers!).

And again, THANK YOU for your time, sweat and effort in the creation of RS2.
