The difficulty

Okay so this is how ive seen it.
At normal you expand and declare countless war with no repercussions. A steamroll. Other factions wont come close to your strength.
On Hard you do the exact same thing except with a bit of difficulty in the early game. Other factions expand somewhat as well but not by alot.
I'm playing very hard right now. Ive finally been declared war on by the AI, for my blatant warmongering. The battles are a bit trickier, but I believe thats because barbarian troops dont stay in the fight that long.
But I've still expanded relatively quickly in early game. Like always.
I'm gonna play as Legendary next. Can anyone tell me if its any different?
I refuse to believe that this game is easier to play than shogun 2 lol Cuz in shogun 2 I could even play on hard without dieing at first. But then again S2 is basically a dogpile.
I'm thinking I might have to mod the campaign with radious to get a tougher gameplay. I just really want to be declared war on my an overpowering Empire, is that too much to ask?
Is this basic analysis close to what some of you are experiencing?
If Legendary doesn't pan out, I will definitely be modding this game.

The AI do declare war on you they just don't do it for no reason. I was playing a very hard campaign as Egypt and satraped the seleucid empire. Loads of AI factions then declared war on them and I thought I'd go along with it and see what happens. Couple turns later all my satraps are getting demolished and then literally every other faction that I had found, about 12-15, decided to just declare war on me. Then I had a civil war and gave up lol. So the AI do declare war when they can see you're weak.

However the AI was really passive to me before I satraped the seleucids and inherited all their satraps as well.

This was on very hard, I'm trying again as Egypt and wont bother with satraps this time so I guess I'll see if the AI decide to do it again. But it is definitely way easier than Shogun 2 in terms of AI's declaring war for no reason other than you being the player.

Like I said I've only gotten declared war on once. But your campaign definetly sounds fun!!!
I wish stuff like that would happen to me. But I usually never satrap, I just occupy. I should start doing that more often it might give some spice to the game.
Thats cool though you took on all theyre satraps lol
Talk about a good day! Right now I just started a Carthaginian (only faction besides pontus I havnt tried) on Legendary. Hopefully I get some more fight out of the AI. I just want to fight another EMPIRE!!!
