    Default Excited for the future

This game does have a lot of bugs and missing features. there is not much anyone can do about it. But after going through the mods and seeing all the different unit types people are making, changes to the stats and A.I. This just reminded me that at some point in time I stopped caring about the release. It didn't matter what kind of non-sense unit you put in because it can all be modded out. This is finally the rome game I have been waiting for. The graphics are awesome with GEM's mod and im sure everything will be put into place once the mod tools are released. Until then the mods are coming in at a nice pace and are changing enough for me to be happy about it. just hope CA follows the mod changes being made *cough*Radious*cough* and make the game itself just as awesome so other people can enjoy the game a whole lot more. Because as it stand CA released a good game platform they just fail at buttering it up well lol.

Would Rome II with mods be any better than Rome I with mods?

What does Rome II improve on that you can't have in the old game - apart from naval invasions?

    Honest question.
The game development business is one of bottomless greed, pitiless cruelty, venal treachery, rampant competition, low politics and boundless personal ambition. New game series are rising, and others are starting their long slide into obscurity and defeat.

Number of factions would be the greatest and most obvious, having a good number of barbarians is an EXTREME better change.
Internal politics, done better and more fluent than rome 1 with mods IMO.
The province system, although that is debatable.
Logical rebellions, no longer suddenly your city turns rebel, now they have to wage war on you.
Naval battles (yes they have been modded in BI, but not as fluent)

I feel the province feature is a vast improvement. The only thing I dislike about it is the customization of being to move your capital to some god forsaken small village and turn that village into the new rome or some other famous city. But customization aside and family tree aside (hopefully added) The gameplay I feel is better/can be better. I like that the game has so many different cultures and people instead of only 10 or so. I like that the game has amazing graphics. Like you said the navy has been improved, and seems almost as customizable. The only downside really is warscapes crud engine not being able to keep a good line and focus on 1v1. Besides a couple of changes I feel this can be better then rome.
