Changing General's faces with EDITSF, where is the variable?!
I've been going a bit crazy since I modded myself into the game
(I like to play the "realism" style, and then only fight the battles my character is involved in to make it like I'm actually there). The problem is, I cannot find the variable to change how a character looks.
At first, I just copied a different general who had the good looks and transformed him into my guy, but to make the traits I added in stick, I had to replace him and then put him back, but doing so changed his looks (oddly). I think I found the background variable (CHARACTER_PORTHOLE_VIEW_DETAILS ---> Land ones, but I could be wrong) but I cannot for the life of me figure out which one changes the 3d character's looks which I'm sure is one of the longer number variables since it has many factors like having a cape, which helmet, and different faces... I tried changing CHARACTER_DETAILS_ART_SET_INFO's Ger_General numbers but those don't seem to affect the campaign map's look (I'm guessing it's probably for in battles).
Can anyone tell me where this variable is located?? Or better yet, how to change the hair to blonde for example or the helmet to the bear pelt (or wolf pelt if that exists). Thanks for any help given!

startpos won't be where you want to look for such things (if it is editable).
That would be a database ordeal with PFM.
Rendered character's being the gist of what you're looking for, if I read your post correctly.

I'm fine with the existent ones and I know where to edit the generals in PFM (at least the way they look in battle I believe if that's the Ger_General_24 variable thing). I just want to pick one of the different auto-generated general faces not create my own.... so no not PFM, but EditSF

Re: Changing General's faces with EDITSF, where is the variable?!
But it's okay, I figured out what the problem was, the reason the face changed was because I'd used the "Replace" feature with the General which oddly causes some sort of weird problem where he takes on the face of the guy that replaces him. REALLY bizarre bug. Not sure if it's just my savegame this happened with as I tend not to care what the other generals look like so I wouldn't notice normally.
I had to replace him cuz his stats weren't updating correctly, then I re-created a new army with him leading it and presto, problem solved and desired look achieved.
