    Default Placebo patching

Is it possible that CA lists a bunch of fixes on patch notes but in reality never fixes those things?

Did anyone hear of such incident in gaming industry?

Because when u think about it AI and a bunch of other things could be "fixed" that way -well at least for some

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. "Fear," he used to say, "fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe." That blew me away. "Turn on the TV," he'd say. "What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products." freakin' A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.” WWZ

Have you had your daily dose of fear yet? craziii

I don't know man. The AI has some moments of real brilliance.

I was attacked by the Romans as Carthage and they invaded one of my towns. Hannibal was there which honestly gave me an obvious advantage. Anyways knowing they had the numerical advantage I fortified the center thinking "Oh it's just the stupid AI they will rush the center and I'll slaughter them as they try to force their way through my line". They never did, instead upon seeing my defense in the center of the town they did the following.

    Gnaius Scipio VS Hannibal Barca

    My Defense
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

What they did was to set up a defensive area in between my defense and the only area my reinforcing naval units could land.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Since I lacked sufficient skirmishers, they sat there and sent in their own skirmishers and some hastati to whittle me down. In the first picture they are attacking my weaker flank, not a very good picture sorry. The next picture shows some of their skirmishers coming around to attack me. They did some damage overall to me during this time. I was still unable to get reinforcements that I had on my boats as they had them blocked.

Finally I was forced to attack them, as they were causing too many casualties. They had since retreated their units back to receive me. This is me preparing to attack them from four different angles (Three streets and from my ships)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The fight begins as my four Libyan Hoplites converge and crash into their lines at the intersection.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

After my men on the boats slaughter their skirmishers from behind they flank the roughly three centuries worth of hastati from the rear that were overpowering my two Hoplites. This soon caused a route on that flank, as I pushed Hannibals cavalry around and flanked their biggest force from the rear with a solid Battle Rhythm buffed charge (Not shown in the picture). I ended up winning a close victory with plenty of losses, something that would have normally never happened as the AI Usually just blindly rushes to the capture point.

This was a fairly intense fight, thankfully I had the presence of mind to actually counter attack them before their skirmishers did too much damage. They had around five of them, far more than I had(I had five as well, but some were injured and low on ammo from the previous ship battle I had, not to mention they are levys vs velites). Also the reason their general is dead is because I managed to cut him off early when he was still positioning and got a lucky javelin volley off. This was the first time I had seen the AI actually form up and prepare to defend four different angles of attack. Just blew my mind man.

No framerate difference what so ever.
If the game doesn't even run well without anti-aliasing, imagine how awful it will run when they finally bother to include Shogun 2 engine improvements (like proper AA).

I've lost hope. Was I wrong to expect a release of Shogun 2 quality? The way Shogun 2 is TODAY, not the way it was at launch years ago..
I mean think about it. To have a proper nice TW experience i need AA. I don't want to look at flickering pixels. I want to be immersed and imagine soldiers fighting down there.

    1. Wait 2 months for them to optimize the engine and finally maybe bother to add proper AA. <- Just like the release of Shogun 2
    2. It will run great without AA, but run awful with AA. <- Just like the release of Shogun 2
    3. Wait 2 more months for them to optimize it further to run well with AA. <- Just like the release of Shogun 2
    4. Finally after 4 months after release, 4 months after I already gave them my money, I might get the game I was promised. <- Just like the release of Shogun 2

    Brilliant.

My game has quantifiably improved over the last two patches, going from nigh unplayable due to poor framerate to quite acceptable even at fairly high settings. And people said it was the fault of my old GTX 275

Same here. Game was ugly as hell at first release and is OK after patch 1, with my old GeForce 260 (I won't say it's gorgeous, but I expected that). And performances are correct, although in some battles it sometimes turn to a slide show.
