It's a simple question :
EB > RII ?
or
EB = RII ?
or
EB < RII ?
And note it's not a graphical comparison !!!!
It's a comparison about creativity of EB's and RII's creators.
(With abilities & limitation of EB's making time - and abilities and limitations of RII's making time)
My opinion is : EB > RII
I started this thread to know the opinion of TW society.

Must you really compare a decent "it's done when it's done" try to a half-hearted "sooner than you think" one?.... CA ought to change the name from Creative Assembly to Cent Assembly, cause that's exactly what they did! They knew people would pre-order upon hearing Rome 2. Their best chance turned money-scheme!

In some cases we can't compare them and it's obvious! but in many things we can compare them , i meant those cases
And also i said in 1st post that this comparison actually is about creativity of EB's and RII's creators .

EB2 = Does the job properly for free and will release a product that isnt broken.

Rome 2 = No proper beta testing claims they have 40% more budget then any releases before, released an unfinished product with bugs and left out promises.


Then comparing a mod with a full game says alot about EB and its team. Hell this forum could make a better game then the crap CA released.

you really can't compare the 2 one has a deadline, the other doesn't. that is one advantage that makes all comparisons moot. with that out of the way. I enjoyed EB for rome 1 immensely

In EB, not so much. So RII hands down.

Agreed 100%. Not only that, even since shogun 2, CAI on legendary (and now with new patches in R2TW) is an actual struggle.

Other than that.. R2TW beats EB in all aspects of creativity. Province system, amount of buildings and their diversity.

Also since shogun 2, battlefields aren't just flat/hilly lands with no additional features, there's a lot going on.

AGENTS. We're so used to Shogun 2's agent utilization that we forgot that before that they were just something u train and forget about as long as it keeps converting a province or sth. Now you care about them as much as your armies.

I think shogun 2 was most revolutionary in what I mention, but R2tw picked up the good things, and expanded on it further.

I could go on forever but I'll cut down just to saying there's no comparison.
