Senators
I'm playing as the Julii family and I'm not quite sure what the senators are for or how to gain their support. I think I have 40% influence or around 200 senators on my side. I was hoping completing some of the missions would help, so I completed one and I didn't gain a single senator. What do you get with higher senator support? How to get more of them on your side? Thanks.

Re: Senators
You need to win battles with your generals of your family. If you have any people with high gravitas and they are not campaigning make them a statesman and they will win senetors over. At least thats how it is meant to work, I'm having a tough time getting support and there are no members of other families on mine.

Re: Senators
You really shouldn't worry about it. The system has almost no impact on the game whatsoever. It was pretty clear it was going to be a system that hooked into the civil war and provided a lot of narrative to the game, but it's currently incomplete. As far as I can tell, the only effects that screen has is to trigger Civil war (if your faction gets too strong/weak) and get some minor buffs (-5% unit upkeep costs). I barely pay attention to it.
