Default Screw city view we need Map view!

Anybody who played the the original RTW probably remembers the city view feature. In Rome 2 I'm finding several legitimate reasons why we could use an evolved city view feature that allows us to zoom anywhere on the map. So if you want to see what you awesome unique capital has evolved too no problem, chances are playing as Rome you will never get to see the final product due to your Empire expanding and the fighting taking place on the outskirts of your realm. What's the point of having these beautiful features if you will mostly never see the final product of your creation. Plus there are lots of other great reasons to have a map view feature:

-View what your wonders look like on the battlefield (once most of them are fixed)
    -Scout out good ambush locations
-Scout for good custom battle locations
-Bring able to actually see what your settlements look like especially the unique ones
-provides a path for auto resolvers to see their settlements without fighting battles

You can see where I'm going and the list goes on.

PS before you get all puffy and want to yell about the game being broken please don't do it here, there are rant and support forums for that.

This wouldn't work because of the way Warscape generates maps now. You can't just select a tile and say "zoom to battlefield" because everything outside of a city is generated and not reliant on what it looks like on the map (unlike Medieval 2 which actually did represent what the battlefield looked like on the map and I'd argue would've been pretty cool with the features you suggested had they been available).

I'm afraid city view is all that can really be done with warscape. I don't recall seeing it modded in yet either so even that might not even be possible but I'd really like to see it because atm you rarely get to see your capital in the game.

What does the difficulty of the game have to do with anything?

Plus there is no way to see the progression of the unique capitals unless a battle is fought there. Playing as Rome I would have to be losing to ever see my capital on the battle map, by late game when your capital is maxed out there usually isn't anybody near that can assault the eternal city. As far as wonders go wouldn't it be "nice to have" a feature that allows to view what they look like without trying to go out of your way to make a battle happen there.

Ah guess you haven't found this feature in the game then :/

The only difference is you would just pick a spot from the campaign map instead of the custom battles menu.

I was aware of it. The way Medieval 2 did it was it created 2 fake armies and made a battle between them. You could probably do it in warscape the same way. But nearly every battle outside of towns is going to be random anyway. And whats to stop you just using the custom battles to learn the maps anyway.. its not like the games hard or anything.
