Shogun 2 was 50 dollars at release. Rome 2 is 60. I don't see why its so alarming that this game is the normal price for a high-budget game.

    I paid $42.

$60 is now msrp for all major games.

This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.

The FED has been so loose in it's monetary policy for so long that eventually general prices will catch up with a vengeance. Your first clue is the monetary commodities like gold and oil. The nominal price of games is still what it was a decade ago. There was a point where an ounce bought you six new releases. Today an ounce buys you 23 new releases.

2003,,,,,,,,,,"you mean $20 for a barrel of oil"? "Excuse me while I print heaps of $20 bills"! "Hey dudes, why you put your prices up"?
Proculus: Divine Caesar, PLEASE! What have I done? Why am I here?
    Caligula: Treason!
Proculus: Treason? I have always been loyal to you!
Caligula: [laughs insanely] That IS your treason! You're an honest man, Proculus, which means a bad Roman! Therefore, you are a traitor! Logical, hmm? Ha, ha, ha!

Inflation. Even with $60 listed price they aint earning enough, hence DLCs. Honestly, games nowadays are quite cheap compared to a decade ago :->
