Is the console back?
Just a quick query, but when in campaign I pressed the tilde key and a box dropped down allowing me to type something. Is this a console?

AFAIK, no. If you want to "cheat"(no criticism intended) figure out how to mod the game, or use any of the stuff you find by googling : "Rome 2 Cheats"

Re: Is the console back?
Its not about cheating but I am just curious what the dropdown box is when I press tilde because I haven't noticed it in the previous few TW's. It reminds me of the console of old, but I don't know what it is.

Re: Is the console back?
It does seem like a console, but I think all the commands have been changed, since I typed in toggle_fow and it didn't work.

Re: Is the console back?
It is indeed a console but whether it has "cheat" commands or not is unclear. I have read somewhere that the only command discovered thus far is "quit". Which quits the game to desktop. I haven't tried that myself, so I don't know that it works. My guess is there are either limited codes that we just don't know yet, or they are going to try and sell it as part of a DLC. Time will tell.

Re: Is the console back?
It's probably a debug console that they have locked on the retail version. Hopefully they open it up later on for mod testing purposes. And yes it could also be use for cheats, but the game just isn't that hard.

I also hopes this means that modders can write scripts for the game. I remember there were a lot of mods that used the console to do alot of the realism spending.
